Dissemination is the process of spreading information from one individual to many.
Dialogue is the process of exchanging information between two or more individuals. It involves reciprocity within human interaction as individuals are encouraged engage in immediate oral dialogue.
Due to the social media’s dialogue media mode, platforms such as Twitter and Facebook have amongst other things, transformed into a political space of discussion. One of the examples that comes to mind is Lady Gaga’s ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ campaign, which was a campaign run in 2010 to lift the ban on gays openly serving in the military. Even almost 10 years ago it’s clear to see the role social media platforms play in amplifying, coordinating and distributing networked protest movements. Gaga tweeted out and sparked political conversation on the topic amongst other celebrities including Ellen DeGeneres, Katy Perry and Kelly Osbourne
My remediation makes comment on social media’s ability to spread information amongst all users as an organisational tool. One tweet can spark huge political debate and create awareness on planned events.
